In regards to our ongoing contract negotiations with the City, the City cancelled scheduled contract talks set for Thursday July 13th, and has yet to offer an alternative date.

We were hopeful that an agreement could be reached in the contract establishing what raises police officers would be guaranteed from the proposed half cent sales tax that the Board of Aldermen is set to vote on today. 

We have not taken a position on the proposed sales tax and remain optimistic that we can reach an accord with the city about the raises promised by Mayor Krewson during her campaign.

To date, the mayor and her representatives have made no financial offer to union negotiators with regard to police raises during contract talks.
