Legislators in the Holdover

Each week we will identify Legislators who should be LOCKED UP IN THE HOLDOVER.

For their most recent actions towards the Fire Department, Alderman Charcles Quincy Troupe, Alderman Stephen “Union-Buster” Gregali, and Mayor Francis Slay have again found themselves in the SLPOA's "Holdover." Time after time, Mayor Slay continues to show his complete disregard for public safety in his greedy quest to steal pensions from hard working firefighters and police officers. Durring a meeting on July 6th, Alderman Troupe referred to firefighters as, “Prima donnas” while Alderman Gregali did his part to silence the concerns of union officials.

Earlier this week, the SLPOA received a copy of a letter written by Representative Tishura Jones (D-District 063) to all of her colleagues in the House of Representatives. In this letter, Representative Jones stated that “the ESOP have decided to show that they are capable of sounding just as stupid as the SLPOA in expressing opposition to local control.” For accusing the St. Louis Police Officers’ Association and the Ethical Society of Police of making “Irrelevant arguments” against City control of the police department, Representative Jones has landed herself in the SLPOA.org holdover.

For the disparaging comments made about police officers on the house floor during last week’s debate over House Bill 1601 (the City Control bill), Representative Jamilah Nasheed(D- District 060) has landed herself in the SLPOA.ORG holdover. Representative Nasheed went on the record stating that she believed all St. Louis Police to be corrupt. When she was afforded the opportunity to correct or clarify what she said, Representative Nasheed stood by her original statement.

This week's "Legislator in the Holdover" is State Representative Ted Hoskins (D - District 080). Rep. Hoskins is the chairman of the Urban Issues committee.

This week's winner is none other than the Mayor of Saint Louis, Francis Slay. He received an overwhelming majority of the votes based on his no holds barred attempt to steal our pension. Check back weekly as we identify the members of his political machine who are assisting him in his campaign.
